Ok, so here we go; the rant is a commin! First and fore most, I read soo many different things online that Ive just got to mention on here lol.
So have you heard about that chick from miachel jacksons thriller video? The girl who was in the blue leport print pedal pushers and jacket with red heels? Well this slow fool decided that she wanted to sue him. Its like really NOW, now after all this time, you want to sue someone over not getting paid for anything lol. Its like damnit, did you smoke up all the "money" you got the first time around? Im so confused on this, also one of the producers, who did thriller and black or white; john landis, he is suing jackson because he never got paid for all the videos he did that brought all that money in. See he has a case, cause he did work, that bish didnt do a damn thing but walk the hoe stroll in the video lol. Moral of this story, you want cash you bet at start dont wait lol
Next rant if you will lol, ya boy diddy, need i say more? Yes damnit, soooo seems like he will snatch up all your monies if you mess with him. I mean really REALLY?? Why do people still mess with this fool? He charges people so many fees so that they dont even know what is happening and at the end of the day they wonder where their money is. So many artists were on badboy that use to be good and lordie they fell off: 112, total, faith, new edition, mase, case, shyine, danity kane, donny klang, you know day 26 is next, he gets so out of pocket that he thinks that hes like god's gift to the world! The hold he has on all the artists is some what short of amazing because they beleive whole heartedly that he is going to be the one who brings them to the top.. Its like noooooooooooooo stupid, a real record label will work with you and try to come up with things that will keep you relevant; ie: a new video, photo spread (with your clothes on) apperences (in worth wild places) things of that nature. Thats also saying that you are an artist with a good record, like you have your club bangers and also your balads and what not but its also saying that people love you as a artist, and that they beleive in your vision of your music. A good artist is hard to find however because most people just want to put out one club banger get the up front cash for it and run a muck with the money they get and forget that when the song is played out that they still have to pay that money back some how, so its like ok, why not try to be the producer and writter for the song, come up with a concepet for the video and get a credit for that, so that you have money comming in from all angles and get to cut out some people in the process.. I figure the more people you get to cut out of the pie the bigger slice for you right??? But no, the kids out there today are more inclined to just get that one hit, which for the most part makes no sense because they have never finished highschool or grade school for that matter and have noclue how to write about anything but getting money or some video ho or whatever the case may be, ok so after you come up with one stupid hit, you have the kids figure, ima make a video that doesent match the song what so ever but ima still get money! NO, you arent and you know why, because if you didnt write the song then the writter is going to get money, if you didnt come up with the concept of the video then that person is going to get moeny, if you have no style what so ever at all, then your stylest get the money, if you have had NO hand in making the video, then you get nothing, and damnit if you work for diddy then all his shit is in the video and FOR DAMN SURE YOU GET NOTHING!
Most people are so starved for attention when they become a artist on badboy that they are willing to say yes to anything, which is how they get you! Its like, you dont read the small print huh? Ok, so if you dont like I know you dont then im going to put all the legal shit i can stick you with in there because i know you wont read it, its also because maybe you cant understand that im going to put a 2 million dollar retainer on it so that if you break your contract with me, you still owe me 2 million plus 5 albums that i know you are never going to make, im going to half ass market you and have you everywhere so that everyone is sick of you so that when your second album comes out, no one is going to buy it and you owe me THAT money as well! But all of this is in the fine print, and I know you arent going to read it, so I will also let you use my car in the video, and I will do you the favor of being in your video and letting you use my house in the video, but what you dont know is that Im going to charge you a fee for all of that as well, and get a big fat tax write off on it and you arent going to see a dime, because its all tied up in the fee's ive charged you! See I know i can keep this up on the entire album because you didnt read the fine print, but its ok, you can come with me on vacation, I will make it better and you will be able to make more money off of the next album I do with you, but this time im going to be on every song, and in EVERY video with you so that I know i can use what ive got to make it better. If more artist read the fine print when dealing with bad boy shit like THIS wouldnt happen, but they get sooo sucked in to working with the all mighty diddy that they just go ok, i will sign!
People wonder why I dont listent to every thing, its because I like REAL artists that have TALENT and know better than to do silly things like that. My point here however is that, if more people who want to "make it" in the music business read the fine print and have GOOD people around then with their BEST intrest in mind, this fool wouldnt be able to suck the life out of them like he does on the regualr!!
I think I missed my calling in life to be an entertainment lawyer lol or maybe just to spread the word lol idk :)
